Graphic Designer

Full-time, in-house position

Applied Analysis is currently seeking applications for an entry-level graphic designer. A graphic designer at Applied Analysis will work collaboratively with the analyst team to develop presentations, reports and graphics for a wide range of client deliverables. As a leading economic and public policy research firm in Nevada, our clients represent nearly every sector of the regional economy, from state and local governments to professional sports teams. We are looking for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to learn to adapt design concepts that will enhance data visualization, particularly around economic data.

Graphic Designer Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Data infographics
  • Presentations (creating templates for use in PowerPoint, assisting with presentation graphics)
  • Reports (designing print-ready, data-driven reports, updating and refreshing recurring briefings, developing infographics around economic data)
  • Website design (planning and layout of websites, no coding required)

Design Skills

Time management, project management, and attention to detail are critical to the role. A graphic designer is expected to coordinate with project managers and analysts to ensure the timely completion of multiple potential projects at a given time. Graphic designers at Applied Analysis frequently work with data. Graphic designers are not data analysts; however, they are expected to work with analysts to gradually build an understanding of basic economic data and topics and use that understanding to develop concise, impactful ways to present it. Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. Basic knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel is preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field

Economic, Research and Policy Analysts

We are soliciting applications for analysts ranging from entry level positions to more experienced analyst/consultant roles. Analysts are required to undertake any number of data collection, research, analysis and reporting tasks. Applicants need to be strong critical thinkers with a demonstrated ability to diligently undertake and successfully complete research and analytical projects. They will need to be proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word. Preference will be given to applicants that also have experience in database analysis and geographic information systems (GIS) applications as well as those with analytical experience in one or more of Applied Analysis' core service areas. The applicant may be suitable for positions and responsibilities that span from our parent company, Applied Analysis, to one of our affiliates - SalesTraq, MyResearcher.com or Discovery Nevada. Analyst (Data Visualization and Reporting)

We are looking for detail-oriented analysts that have experience in researching information, analyzing data and presenting information in meaningful and visually appealing formats. Specifically, our team is looking to incorporate professionals that can develop creative PowerPoint presentations that tell a story. The focus of the content of presentations will largely be centered around economics, real estate, hospitality and other client-specific needs. The successful candidate will turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions. This position is less about being a database technician, but rather an effective consultant and communicator.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources
  • Update databases and/or internal data tracking reports
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Develop creative PowerPoint presentations to be shared in public and private forums
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

Skills

  • Proven experience as a data analyst, researcher or business consultant
  • Significant experience in collecting and analyzing data in Excel
  • Proven track record of preparing effective PowerPoint presentations
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at report writing and presenting findings
  • Attention to detail is a critical skillset

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (economics, finance, mathematics or similar concentrations preferred)
  • One year of professional experience in consulting, research or related field
  • Availability to work in-office full-time
