RENO -- Construction workers bearing the brunt of a recession that has ravaged the Nevada economy rallied in Reno and Las Vegas on Thursday and demanded lawmakers spend more public money on building projects.

RENO — With chants of “Put Nevada back to work” and “We want jobs,” hundreds of plumbers, electricians, sheetrock installers, building contractors, carpenters, engineers and other construction industry workers gathered Thursday outside the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno to tell legislators to put job creation at the top of their agenda.
