Applied Analysis was engaged to quantify Touro University Nevada’s economic, workforce and community impacts and to help the university communicate those results to donors, policymakers and partners. Using IMPLAN input–output modeling, institution-supplied data and publicly available data, we measured the effects of university operations, capital investments and graduate retention on jobs, wages and output in Southern Nevada. Over 2019–2023, Touro generated more than $584 million in economic activity, supported an average of 636 jobs annually and increased local wages by $248 million; every $1 in direct spending produced roughly $2 in regional output.
Since 2016, more than $33 million in facility investments have driven a total of $55 million in one-time economic impacts and 328 jobs, while graduates who remain in Nevada add an estimated $26 million in wages each year and nearly $130 million over five years.
Deliverables included a visually rich executive summary report, supporting economic models and messaging that framed Touro’s contributions to Nevada’s healthcare system. These insights also informed Jeremy Aguero’s keynote address at Touro’s annual fundraising gala, where he translated the findings into a compelling call to expand the state’s healthcare capacity and graduate medical education pipeline.
