Analysts — Economic, Research and Policy Analysis
We are soliciting applications for experienced candidates for analyst/consultant roles. Analysts are required to undertake any number of data collection, research, analysis and reporting tasks. Applicants need to be strong critical thinkers with a demonstrated ability to diligently undertake and successfully complete research and analytical projects.
Candidates should be proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word. Applicants should also demonstrate the ability to develop effective PowerPoint presentations that use a mix of quantitative and qualitative content to craft compelling narratives around economic data, trends, and policy topics. Preference will be given to applicants that also have experience in database analysis and geographic information systems (GIS) applications as well as those with analytical experience in one or more of Applied Analysis' core service areas.
The applicant may be suitable for positions and responsibilities that span from our parent company, Applied Analysis, to one of our affiliates - SalesTraq, MyResearcher.com or Discovery Nevada.
Position Overview
Core Responsibilities
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources
- Update databases and/or internal data tracking reports
- Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Develop creative MS PowerPoint presentations to be shared in public and private forums
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
Skills
- Proven experience as a data analyst, researcher or business consultant
- Significant experience in collecting and analyzing data in Excel
- Proven track record of preparing effective PowerPoint presentations
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Adept at report writing and presenting findings
- Attention to detail is a critical skillset
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, economics, finance, mathematics or similar concentrations preferred
- One year of professional experience in consulting, research or related field
- Availability to work in-office full-time
