Opportunity Village

Founded in 1954 by Dessie and Al Bailey, Opportunity Village (OV) has grown from a small school for children with disabilities into one of Southern Nevada’s most impactful nonprofit organizations. OV serves nearly 3,000 individuals annually through programs in workforce training, day habilitation, youth services and direct employment. With a staff of nearly 750, OV is expanding its reach with a new $59 million residential campus and launching community-focused initiatives such as OV Thrift Plus and Dessie’s Table Events. Through these efforts, OV continues to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, enhance their quality of life and support families across the region, strengthening the fabric of Southern Nevada.
